Auchencairn Climate Transition (ACT) is a non-profit organisation formed in 2019 by a group of local residents concerned about the impact of Climate Change.
Our aims are to support:
- Local biodiversity improvement
- Energy conservation and renewables
- Local food production
- Local and national lobbying for social change
- Community resilience for the future
We can serve as an umbrella organisation for any funding applications that fit within our aims and for specific projects. We work in smaller sub-groups. The Biodiversity sub-group manages the community field, tree nursery and community allotment. We have a recycling and waste initiative, the e-bike project, the ACTART group and film night events.
EVERYONE’s ideas are needed, including YOUR’s!
Anyone in the local community is welcome to join ACT, we currently have over eighty members. We meet once a month in the village.
